Date: 22/01/2024 - Ruth + Antony’s Incredible Autumn Wedding at Ashfield House
“Thank you for all your incredible support, positivity and talent on our wedding day. We’re overjoyed with our photos. We find ourselves scrolling through them at every opportunity, we’re just trying to choose one for the ‘Thank yous’ but its so hard to pick one, we love them!”
Proposal: Antony proposed at home on the farm on 10th December 2022 (exactly 5 years to the day of our first date 10th December 2017), in one of the fields at the back of the farm, snow on the ground and we were out walking our Labrador ‘Dusty’.
We’d never heard of Ashfield House until Antonys sister came over Christmas 2022 (with me – Sarah) to show us some Christmas phots she’d had done with her and her boys with you at Ashfield House. Knowing we were engaged she suggested Ashfield as a wedding venue. After some googling over the Christmas period we didn’t hesitate to get in touch and make some enquires.
Being in farming our quietest time is November – February, so we always knew we wanted to get married around the quiet time to be able to enjoy it as much as possible. With Ruth being a hairdresser and in hospitality December wasn’t an option either so instantly we were drawn to Autumn as its already such a picturesque time of year.
Autumn became our theme, colour scheme… I knew it would tie in with the setting of Ashfield so well.
Ashfield were amazing from day one. Considering we booked and had our wedding within 10 months we never had any doubts whatsoever. They were so helpful at every turn.
Ahh the day I don’t know where to begin. Thats what we’ve loved most about the photos, they just tell the story of the day so well.
Antony, even on a day off will never completely switch off if we are at home, there is always something going on big or small. So it was no surprise to find photos of him taking orders for fodder beet on the morning of the wedding.. or as he says he was doing something he knows to help calm the nerves! haha.
Antonys tractor at the wedding arrived at the farm a couple of weeks prior to the wedding. After clocking so many hours on his previous tractor over a few seasons it was time to upgrade and just in time.
It was lovely being able to do my sisters hair for my wedding, similar to Antony it helped calmed my nerves having something to do. I was extremely lucky not only did my Auntie & Uncle fly half way around the world to be there but my Auntie also a Hairdresser did my hair for me on my Wedding Day
